Staples Inc. names senior vice president for Quill brand

Staples Inc. has named Michael Patriarca senior vice president of Quill. Patriarca will manage the catalog and online business of Quill, which serves small and medium businesses. He will report to Joe Doody, president of Staples North American Delivery.

Staples Inc. has named Michael Patriarca senior vice president of Quill. Patriarca will manage the catalog and online business of Quill, which serves small and medium businesses. He will report to Joe Doody, president of Staples North American Delivery, the division that manages Staples’ e-commerce business.

"Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new leadership role," says Doody. "He is well prepared to help drive the Quill business and advance the highest levels of customer service."

In his new role, Patriarca will oversee marketing, sales, merchandising, information systems, finance and customer relations for Quill.

Previously, Patriarca was vice president of merchandising at Quill. Patriarca joined Staples in 1993 working in finance. He became director of finance for U.S. Stores in 1997. In 2000, began working for the retailer’s Quill unit as vice president and controller. He was promoted to vice president of Quill operations in 2003 assuming responsibility for distribution, supply chain, delivery and call center operations.

Staples is No. 2 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
