Acorn Media Group hires a new president of Acorn Direct from J. Jill

Acorn Media Group has named Peter Clinch president of Acorn Direct. Previously Clinch was senior vice president of direct marketing and inventory management at J. Jill, where he grew the direct unit and oversaw inventory for all J. Jill sales channels.

Acorn Media Group has named Peter Clinch as president of Acorn Direct, the company’s direct-to-consumer division.

Acorn Direct offers DVDs and other products with a focus on British television and specialty programming through AcornOnline.com and catalogs, and health and wellness products through its Acacia brand, online at AcaciaCatalog.com and through a print catalog.

Acorn Media Group projects $100 million in global sales in 2008, with 50% from Acorn Direct.

Clinch most recently was senior vice president of direct marketing and inventory management at J. Jill, where he grew the direct business and oversaw inventory management of all J. Jill sales channels including stores, Internet and catalog. Before joining J. Jill in 2001, he was senior vice president of inventory management for Pottery Barn Brands at Williams-Sonoma Inc. and held management positions at Chadwick’s of Boston LTD.

Acorn Media was founded by chairman Peter Edwards in the mid-1980s. it now operates Acorn Direct, , Acorn Media U.S., Acorn Media U.K. and Acorn Media Australia.
