eMusic’s catalog grows to more than 4 million tracks

eMusic, which claims the title of the largest retailer of independent music, reported today that its worldwide catalogue now exceeds 4 million tracks from more than 40,000 record labels.

eMusic, which claims the title of the largest retailer of independent music, reported today that its worldwide catalogue now exceeds 4 million tracks from more than 40,000 record labels.

Recent additions to the eMusic catalogue include The Slip, Nine Inch Nails’ new album, and classic titles from Liz Phair and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.

Besides music, eMusic, No. 294 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, also offers audiobook downloads.

The company was founded in 1998 and claims more than 400,000 customers.
