The Guild Inc. hires merchandising exec

Mary Madigan has joined The Guild Inc. as vice president of merchandising. She will manage the artwork for The Guild`s e-commerce web site and catalog and will oversee the retailer’s merchandising and creative departments.

Mary Madigan has joined The Guild Inc. as vice president of merchandising. She will manage the artwork for The Guild`s e-commerce web site and catalog and will oversee the retailer’s merchandising and creative departments.

Most recently, Madigan was senior vice president, merchandising and product development at Chefs, a kitchen e-commerce and catalog retailer. There, she helped launch several product categories. She also has worked in merchandising and retail management roles at Restoration Hardware, Drugstore.com, Eddie Bauer Home and Pottery Barn.

In addition to overseeing art selection, Madigan will serve on The Guild’s board and help to develop and launch new products.

"We are so lucky to have a merchant of Mary`s caliber join the company," The Guild`s CEO, Lisa Bayne, says. "She is a premium product person with a passion for artwork and a great track record for building brands. This will be a tremendous asset to us as we work to build the offerings and reach of The Artful Home brand through our web site, catalog, and eventually, retail venues."

The Guild is No. 409 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide-- Restoration Hardware is No.83, Drugstore.com is 41 and Eddie Bauer ranks No. 71.
