Traffic to Gamestop.com builds in May, Nielsen Online says

Unique visitors to electronic game site Gamestop.com grew 49% year-over-year to 2.88 million last month. Traffic to eBay sites, however, didn’t fare quite as well.

Unique visitors to electronic game site Gamestop.com grew 49% year-over-year to 2.88 million last month. Traffic to eBay sites, however, didn’t fare quite as well. Unique visitors to eBay electronics in May grew just 1% compared to last year, while traffic to eBay computers fell 10% year-over-year.

The top 10 multi-category computers and electronics shopping destinations in May with unique visitors in millions this year and last and growth from prior year, according to Nielsen Online were:

  • Best Buy, 14.04, 10.94, 28%
  • Circuit City, 11.84, 10.99, 8%
  • eBay Electronics, 9.24, 9.12, 1%
  • eBay Computers 4.75 5.27 -10%
  • TigerDirect.com, 3.81, 3.77, 1%
  • NewEgg.com, 3.41, 2.69, 27%
  • Windows Marketplace, 3.38, 2.59, 30%
  • Gamestop.com, 2.88, 1.93, 49%
  • Canon, 2.35, 1.76, 34%
  • Sony, 2.07, 2.67, -23%
  • CompUSA.com, 1.84, 2.30 -20%
Unique visitors count only once each shopper who came to a site, no matter how many times the shopper visited. This is a custom list compiled by Internet Retailer of the top online shopping destinations based on Nielsen Online data. Rankings may contain multiple web sites from the same retailer or manufacturer.
