Mass merchants delivered the fastest access in April to shoppers with a high broadband connection, says Gomez Inc.
Gomez notes that customers with a broadband connection could visit a mass merchant site in about 6.08 seconds, compared with computers and electronics retailers (6.40 seconds), apparel and accessories retailers (6.46 seconds), and specialty merchants (6.52 seconds).
When a site is accessed by a dial-up connection, apparel and accessories retailers provided the fastest average access at 45.36 seconds, Gomez says. The next fastest web retailing category was specialty retailers at 52.46 seconds.
