Shopatron helps Smith MX work with retailers to provide optimal service to customers

San Luis Obispo, CA, May 12, 2008 – Shopatron, the leading provider of eCommerce solutions for consumer goods manufacturers, announces Smith Optics Motorsports Division (MX) as the newest addition to its roster of high-quality sporting goods apparel manufacturers.

Shopatron will enable Smith Optics MX to strengthen partnerships with its retailers by assigning online orders to local retailers for fast delivery or in-store pickup of its Smith MX product line. With Shopatron, Smith Optics MX will contribute to the growth of in-store sales for its retailers, and together meet the needs and demands of consumers.

“This is something that I have wanted to implement exclusive to our line of motorsports goggles for some time,” said Mark Phares, General Manager, Motorsports Division for Smith Optics. “It satisfies all aspects of the business without disrupting our current distribution strategies - the consumer has the ability to complete the shopping experience directly from the Smith Optics web site (www.smithoptics.com) but the order is fulfilled by his closest dealer. That dealer then reorders from our distributor, so it’s a win-win for all parties involved.”

“We’re pleased to welcome Smith Optics MX to the Shopatron community,” said Brian Clausen, president of Shopatron. “It’s a great time to join our retailer-integrated eCommerce system as consumers begin to look for more options for obtaining products, particularly in-store pickup of online orders. Offering this service will no doubt help position Smith Optics’ MX dealers to expand their business.”

Smith Optics MX joins many other sporting goods apparel manufacturers who utilize Shopatron to enable shipment and in-store pickup of consumer orders from retail stores.
