Alibris promotes Liz Derr to chief operating officer

Online new and used book, CD and DVD marketplace Alibris has promoted Liz Derr to chief operating officer. Derr is currently vice president of engineering at Alibris.

Online new and used book, CD and DVD marketplace Alibris has promoted Liz Derr to chief operating officer. Derr is currently vice president of engineering at Alibris.

Derr, who joined Alibris in 2005, will continue to head up the company’s engineering department, and also will continue to manage partnerships with such e-retailers as Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Borders, Chapters/Indigo, and Half.com by eBay. She also will remain in charge of Alibris` customer service division. Alibris ranks No. 117 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.

"Liz has successfully led Alibris through new initiatives and major infrastructure changes, and has taken over leadership of our cross-functional operations team this past year," says Brian Elliott, president and CEO of Alibris. “Having Liz integrate our engineering, customer service, and business- partnership initiatives allows us to better serve sellers, buyers, and partners by implementing improvements that drive long-term growth for our business."
