The Talbots Inc. has named Lizanne Kindler as its senior vice president in charge of store and Internet merchandising for the Talbots brand. She will service as a general merchandise manager.

Kindler was most recently senior vice president, general merchandising manager, of Ann Taylor Loft and was involved in brand planning and allocation, marketing, visual merchandising and stores. Kindler joined Ann Taylor in 1992, and held a series of increasingly responsible executive positions, including vice president, merchandising, for sportswear and as senior director, merchandising, for AnnTaylor.com.

In her new role at Talbots, Kindler will oversee the merchandising strategy and development of the Talbots brand apparel, shoe and accessory businesses for Talbots.com and Talbots stores. She will report to Basha Cohen, who joined Talbots, No. 62 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, in December as executive vice president and overall chief merchandising officer for the Talbots brand.

Cohen joined Talbots from Kellwood Co. where she was employed as executive vice president of design and merchandising.
