Buyer protection program helps win over customers, Etronics.com says

For retailers in markets such as consumer electronics where competition is fierce, the ability to offer an alternative payment option with buyer protection can make the difference between a customer making a purchase or jumping to another site, e-retailer Etronics Inc. says.

That’s why Etronics.com, No.72 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, recently began offering eBillme with Enhanced Buyer Protection, says Mayer Balser, CEO.

Noting that consumers are “fickle,” Balser says he tries to give them as many options as possible for making payment. But the buyer protection program attached to eBillme was an additional incentive to adopt the alternative payment option.

“EBillme in particular offers a consumer protection program,” he says. “That was important to me.”

When consumers select the eBillme payment option at checkout, they are sent an e-mail invoice confirming the purchase. The consumer then pays the invoice from their online bank account.

The eBillme Buyer protection program gives consumers who pay cash for their online purchases the enhanced security and assurance services typically associated with premium credit cards. When an online shopper pays with eBillme, they automatically qualify for the eBillme Buyer Protection program, which includes:

• Price protection, which ensures customers get the best possible price by refunding the difference if the same item is found at a lower price.
• Return guarantee, which provides a money-back guarantee if the consumer is dissatisfied with their purchase.
• In transit protection, which protects eBillme customers from loss, theft, or damages that may occur during shipping.
• Payment protection, which safeguards the buyer by providing zero liability for unauthorized transactions.

EBillMe is a product of MODASolutions Inc., which partners with Affinion Group, a provider of customer loyalty programs, to offer through eBillme price protection and return guarantee services.
