Apparel retailers are tops in December web performance

Apparel and accessories retailers provided customers with high broadband connections the fastest access time in December, says Gomez Inc.

Gomez notes that customers with a high broadband connection could visit an apparel retailer’s site in about 5.98 seconds, compared to mass merchants (6.16 seconds), other merchants (6.20 seconds), and computers and electronics retailers (7.18 seconds).

When a site is accessed by a low broadband connection, apparel and accessories retailers provided the fastest average access at 13.91 seconds, Gomez says. The next fastest web retailing category was other merchants (14.88 seconds), followed by mass merchants (15.21 seconds), and computers and electronics (17.44 seconds).
