Online holiday sales at Barnes & Noble rise 10.9%

Online sales for the 9-week holiday season period that ended January 5 rose 10.9% to $129.4 million at BarnesandNoble.com, as store sales rose 4.1% and comp store sales declined 0.4%, the retailer said today.

Online sales for the 9-week holiday season period that ended January 5 rose 10.9% to $129.4 million at BarnesandNoble.com, up from $116.7 million, as store sales rose 4.1% to $1.2 billion and and comp store sales declined 0.4%, Barnes & Noble Inc. said today.

For the 48 weeks ended Jan. 5, sales on BarnesandNoble.com rose to $428.8 million, up 12.8% from the year-ago period, as store sales rose 4.8% to $4.3 billion and comp store sales increased 2%. Comp store sales are sales at stores open at least one year.

BarnesandNoble.com is No. 33 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
