Shutterfly adds three senior managers in finance and marketing

Shutterfly has named former Yahoo and eBay executive Mark Rubash as chief financial officer, replacing retiring Stephen E. Recht. Bernie Blegen has been hired as corporate controller and Katie Ho as vice president of customer marketing.

Online digital photo services retailer Shutterfly Inc. is adding to the ranks of senior management.

To replace retiring chief financial officer Stephen E. Recht, the company has named former Yahoo and eBay executive Mark Rubash as its top financial executive. Shutterfly, No. 93 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, also hired Bernie Blegen as a vice president and corporate controller and Katie Ho as vice president of customer marketing.

Rubash comes to Shutterfly from Rearden Commerce Inc., where he served as chief financial officer. Previously, he was a senior vice president of finance at Yahoo Inc. Prior to joining Yahoo, Rubash held various senior leadership positions at eBay, including chief accounting officer and vice president for finance and investor relations. Earlier in his career, Rubash was an audit partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and global leader for the firm`s Internet industry practice and in the audit and business advisory services practice at Ernst & Young.

Blegen comes to Shutterfly from Credence Systems Corp., where he was vice president of finance and corporate controller. At Credence he was responsible for corporate accounting, consolidations, operational financial support and credit and SEC reporting. He was previously employed as senior director of finance for Xilinx Inc., as the vice president and corporate controller for Merant / Micro Focus, and as vice president of finance for Times Mirror Education Group.

Ho will lead Shutterfly`s market insights and analysis group and will work closely with the company`s creative services, business analysis and product marketing groups in her role as vice president of customer marketing. Prior to joining Shutterfly, Ho served as vice president of consumer marketing for TiVo Inc., where her role encompassed subscriber acquisition, advertising and customer relationship management. Previously, she was director of marketing for Real Sports Magazine and director of marketing and sales for the San Jose Lasers basketball team.

Shutterfly CEO Jeffery Housenbold will speak at the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition, June 9-12 in Chicago in a session entitled The Internet’s new made for me markets.
