The Knot successfully woos a new president

The Knot Inc. has named Janet Scardino as president and chief marketing officer. As the company’s newest senior manager she will be responsible for developing and overseeing various business operations, including content, marketing and e-commerce.

The Knot Inc. has named Janet Scardino as president and chief marketing officer.

As the company’s newest senior manager, she will be responsible for developing and overseeing The Knot`s various business operations, including content, marketing and e-commerce, across brands such as TheKnot.com and The Nest.com. She will report to chairman and CEO David Liu.

Prior to joining The Knot, No. 343 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, Scardino was the executive vice president and managing director of Reuter’s media division. At Reuters she was in charge of consumer media services in North America and Europe and was responsible for running a large network of web sites, mobile services, Internet television properties and outdoor media.

Scardino has also served as senior vice president, international marketing for AOL, as managing director of the Disney Channel based in Milan, Italy, and as vice president of international marketing at MTV Networks.
