Apparel retailers give dial-up users the fastest access in August

Gomez Inc. notes that customers with a dial-up connection could visit an apparel retailer’s site in about 46.75 seconds last month, followed by specialty/other retailers at 48.08 seconds.

Gomez Inc. notes that customers with a dial-up connection could visit an apparel retailer’s site in about 46.75 seconds, compared to specialty/other retailers (48.08 seconds), mass merchants (50.94 seconds), and computers and electronics retailers (57.06 seconds).

When their site is accessed by a high broadband connection, apparel and accessories retailers provided the fastest average access at 5.55 seconds, Gomez says. The next fastest web retailing category was specialty/other retailers (5.83 seconds), followed by mass merchants (5.84 seconds), and computers and electronics (7.01 seconds).
