Imaginova Corp., operator of digital media and e-commerce web sites, has named Peter Moreo vice president and general manager of the company’s MultiChannel Commerce division. Moreo joins Imaginova from a position as director of sales & merchandising for hpshopping.com, Hewlett-Packard Co.’s online consumer store. Before that, he was vice president, operations and systems integration at consumer electronics retailer eCOST.com.

Imaginova’s MultiChannel Commerce division sells through e-commerce, catalog and wholesale channels. Moreo will oversee merchandising, marketing and distribution of consumer optics and accessories from Orion Telescopes & Binoculars (OrionTelescopes.com), astronomy software from Starry Night (StarryNight.com), and science-themed products from LiveScienceStore.com.

“Imaginova has a unique advantage over other retailers in that our products can be marketed alongside contextually relevant content. For example, those who come to our sites to read about a lunar eclipse are just a click away from purchasing a pair of high-powered binoculars to enhance their viewing experience,” says Moreo.
