Sam Decker has been named chief marketing officer at Bazaarvoice, which provides a hosted service that enables online retailers to display customer reviewing and ratings on their web sites.
Decker joined the company in January 2006 as vice president of marketing and products. Before that, he spent seven years at Dell Inc.
Decker has written two books on word of mouth and guerilla marketing, is a board member of the Word of Mouth Association and chairman of the board of advisors of the Web Analytics Association. He is a graduate of the California Polytechnic University.
