U.S. companies ship to warehouses in Detroit or Chicago where the packages are reconciled against Canadian duty and shipping requirements.

From search to ship, e-commerce technology offers an expanding array of innovative tools for e-retailers to cut costs and improve revenue. For some online retailers, however, there are too many tools. “The trick,” says Lobaugh, the consultant, “is to stay focused and vet technologies that are strategic vs. allowing each new feature and function that comes up to distract you.”
