RadioShack executive moves over to Toys “R” Us

Claire Babrowski, 48, has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer at Toys “R” Us. She will be responsible for logistics, information technology, franchise operations and for growing the company’s owned operations.

Toys “R” Us Inc. has named Claire Babrowski to the newly created position of executive vice president and chief operating officer. Her responsibilities include logistics, information technology, franchise operations,and expanding the company’s owned operations and its holdings in the Pacific region.

Babrowski, 48, most recently served as acting CEO, president and chief operating officer at electronics retailer RadioShack Corp. Prior to that, she had a 30-year career at McDonald’s Corp.

“Claire is a decisive leader with the proven ability to develop and execute strategies for improving business performance across diverse geographic locations,” Toys “R” Us chairman and CEO Jerry Storch said in a statement. “Her success in building result-focused teams with clear operational accountabilities will be key to leveraging our worldwide strength and capabilities.

Toys “R” Us, a toy and baby products retailer, is No. 39 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide. Radio Shack is No. 181 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
