SAN MATEO, Calif., – May 14, 2007 – Keynote Competitive Research, the industry analysis group of Keynote Systems (Nasdaq: KEYN), today announced the launch of seven new Web performance indices covering leading Web sites in the following categories and vertical industries: Credit Card, E-Banking, E-Brokerage, News, Retail, Social Networking, and Top Ten Internet Brands (U.S.). Keynote’s new Home page vertical indices allow Web operations teams, application developers and online business managers to measure and compare the performance of their Web sites against that of leading sites in a number of important online categories; set service levels objectives accordingly; and tune their sites for optimal performance. For more information about Keynote Performance indices and companies included in each, please visit: http://www.keynote.com/keynote_competitive_research/performance_indices.

All Web pages monitored for Keynote’s Web site performance indices are measured 24/7 from 10 US major metropolitan areas on a variety of backbones using Keynote’s commercially available Application Perspective® and Transaction Perspective High Frequency services. Both the aggregate or summary index views and the detailed data are available to Keynote customers to help them set performance benchmarks against their competitors, as well as for setting internal goals and targets for performance (for MBO’s), and for establishing and managing service level objectives and agreements (SLO/As). Built to leverage the highly accurate data gathered continually by Keynote’s global Internet test and measurement network, the company’s indices are considered the ‘gold standard’ for benchmarking Web page and transaction responsiveness and availability against competitors and industry norms.

Keynote also maintains and offers a number of multi-page or transactional indices for measuring the performance of a typical user transaction (such as logging on to an online bank account and checking an account balance) across a number of popular online categories. To find out more about Keynote’s line of transaction indices, please visit: http://www.keynote.com/keynote_competitive_research/performance_indices/industry.

The new indices will be available to Keynote customers who are using Keynote’s Application Perspective or Transaction Perspective High Frequency monitoring products. Qualified customers are provided with one free summary index (representing a composite or aggregate view of all the Web sites in a particular index) and can purchase additional indices for $100/month per summary. Customers can also purchase detailed index data (showing the performance of all the Web sites in a particular index) for an additional fee.

“For ten years now we have been providing our customers with access to the industry’s most accurate and representative Web performance indices to allow them to compare their site performance against the competition and set performance benchmarks and service level objectives accordingly,” said Vik Chaudhary, vice president of product management and corporate development. “With the launch of these seven new indices covering highly competitive segments of online business today, Keynote continues to lead the way by providing the tools and intelligence that companies need to succeed on the Web.”
