Despite slip in visitors, eBay Home leads home and garden retail sites

Although it suffered a 5% decline in visitors year over year, eBay Home led the pack of home and garden web sites in March in terms of unique visitors, hosting 12.5 million shoppers vs. 13.1 million a year ago, Nielsen/NetRatings reports.

Although it suffered a 5% decline in visitors year over year, eBay Home led the pack of home and garden web sites in March in terms of unique visitors, hosting 12.5 million shoppers vs. 13.1 million a year ago, reports Nielsen/NetRatings. Unique visitors to No. 2 Home Depot grew 9% to 10.4 million from 9.5 million.

Nielsen/NetRatings reports the Top 10 home and garden web sites in March, with unique visitors in millions this March and last March, and their year-over-year growth, were:

  • eBay Home, 12.53, 13.13, -5%
  • The Home Depot, 10.41, 9.52, 9%
  • Lowe`s, 7.89, 7.58, 4%
  • HGTV - Home & Garden Television, 5.29, 5.36, -1%
  • eBay Crafts, 4.22, 4.51, -6%
  • ServiceMagic, 3.58, 2.60, 38%
  • Home Shopping Network, 3.14, 3.49, -10%
  • DIY Network, 2.67, 3.02, -11%
  • IKEA, 2.30, 2.31, 0%
  • iVillage GardenWeb, 2.19, 1.03, 112%
(Unique visitors count only once each shopper who came to a site, no matter how many time that shopper visited.)

Among home and garden web sites, LTD Commodities held visitors the longest. The time spent per unique visitor in the month (minutes:seconds), and unique visitors in thousands in March, according to Nielsen/NetRatings, were:
