Sierra Trading Post, No. 196 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, has rolled out a “Running Shoe Fit Guide” on its web site to help customers buy the best-fitting running shoes without trying them on.

The guide defines foot arch types and degrees of pronation, or the normal, slightly inward motion the foot makes as it strikes the running surface. The guide then explains how these factors can affect the choice of proper running shoes.

Sierra Trading Post’s “Running Shoe Fit Guide” also illustrates the best method of shoe lacing based on foot type and offers tips from experienced runners. The cataloger and e-retailer sells discounted shoes, home furnishings, and dress, casual and outdoor clothing.

SierraTradingPost.com received 2.055 million visits and 1.2 million unique visitors each month in 2006, according to Nielsen/NetRatings.
