The Hershey Co. outsources online gift and catalog operations to GSI

GSI Commerce will provide The Hershey Co. with I.T. services including e-commerce and order processing technologies, personalization and fulfillment of chocolate gifts, and customer care support for its web, catalog and business consumers.

GSI Commerce has signed an agreement to provide I.T. services for The Hershey Co., including e-commerce and order processing technologies, personalization and fulfillment of chocolate gifts, and customer care support for its web, catalog and business consumers. Terms of the multi-year deal were not disclosed.

GSI will provide software and services for direct-to-consumer products and services for Hershey’s online gift store and catalog, including HersheysGifts.com and Mauna Loa snack products at MaunaLoa.com.

The agreement marks GSI’s first foray into the online retail specialty foods marketplace.

Hershey, No. 260 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, plans to enhance its e-commerce offerings with the agreement. “This new partnership enables Hershey to create exciting online experiences for consumers and to further build our iconic brands by offering innovative custom and personalized gifts,” says Michelle Gloeckler, vice president and general manager of The Hershey Experience.
