Former Albertson’s vice chairman named chairman of DemandTec

DemandTec, a provider of web-based software that helps retailers execute pricing and promotional programs based on customer demand, has named former Albertson’s Inc. vice chairman Victor Lund as non-executive chairman of the board.

DemandTec Inc., provider of web-based software that helps retailers execute pricing and promotional programs based on customer demand, has named former Albertson’s Inc. vice chairman Victor Lund as non-executive chairman of the board.

Lund, who joined the DemandTec board 20 months ago, served as vice chairman of the Albertson’s supermarket chain from 1999 to 2002 and as chairman of American Stores Company, a $20 billion grocery retailer acquired by Albertson’s, from 1995 to 1999.

“The election of Vic Lund to chairman of our board of directors marks another important step in DemandTec’s development,” says DemandTec president and CEO Dan Fishback. “I have enjoyed working with Vic and he has earned the confidence and trust of both the board of directors and executive management team through his excellent service.”

Lund also serves on the boards of directors of Borders Group Inc., Del Monte Foods Co., NCR Corp, Service Corp. International and I4 Commerce Inc.
