IAC appoints a new Ticketmaster CEO

IAC/InterActive Corp. has named Sean Moriarty as president and CEO of Ticketmaster. Moriarty will have responsibility for Ticketmaster’s worldwide business, product and technology strategy and distribution channels.

IAC/InterActive Corp. has named Sean Moriarty as president and CEO of Ticketmaster.

In his new role, Moriarty will maintain responsibility for operational leadership of Ticketmaster’s worldwide business, product and technology strategy and distribution channels across all business units, says IAC, No. 23 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites. Moriarty previously served as Ticketmaster’s president and chief operating officer.

Since 1997, Moriarty has held progressive roles at Ticketmaster and its predecessor, Ticketmaster Online-Citysearch. He has served as vice president of Internet systems, executive vice president of technology and chief operations officer. Moriarty serves on the board of directors of iLike.com as well as several technology advisory boards.

Terry Barnes will maintain his role as chairman of Ticketmaster, says IAC.
