Avenue A | Razorfish hires former Claiborne e-commerce exec David Towers

David Towers, former vice president of e-commerce at Liz Claiborne Inc., has been named vice president, managing director for the Los Angeles office of Avenue A | Razorfish.

David Towers, former vice president of e-commerce at Liz Claiborne Inc., has been named vice president, managing director for the Los Angeles office of Avenue A | Razorfish, a digital and search engine marketing firm.

Towers will be accountable for daily operations of the Los Angeles office. His responsibilities include managing staffing functions, driving revenue, overseeing client relations and leading creative and technology efforts.

Prior to Avenue A and Liz Claiborne, Towers spent more than five years with J. Crew Group as director of e-commerce operations and then was promoted to vice president, responsible for the operation of JCrew.com. Additionally, he spent four years with American Express Travel Related Services managing customer relations programs and more than two years with Diagnostic Research International where he was a research analyst.

Towers’ colleague at Avenue A, Bruce Woolsey, will speak at the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition, June 4-7 in San Jose in a session entitled New Age Marketing Tools: Is Today`s Hype Tomorrow`s Help?
