Systemax Q2 web sales climb 29.2%

Systemax Inc., which operates TigerDirect.com, grew its web sales by 29.2% in the second quarter while total revenue grew by 8.1%. For the period of January through June, web and total sales grew by 30.8% and 7.8%, respectively.

Systemax Inc., which owns and operates TigerDirect.com, grew its web sales by 29.2% in the second quarter while total revenue grew by 8.1%.

For Q2 Systemax posted online sales of $191 million vs. web sales of $147.8 million for Q2 2005. Total sales amounted to $547.2 million, compared with revenue of $506.1 million for the same quarter in 2005.

“The sales growth of North American computer products during the second quarter of 2006 was in large part via e-commerce,” says Tiger Direct president Gilbert Fiorentino.

For the period of January through June, Systemax, No. 26 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, posted web sales of $390.9 million, an increase of 30.8% from online sales of $298.9 million for the same period in 2005. Total revenue for the first six months of the year totaled $1.12 billion, an increase of 7.5% from sales of $1.04 billion for January through June in 2005.

Overall the web represented 35% of all revenue for Q2 and for the first six months of 2006.
