Former HatWorld exec becomes president of Genesco

Robert J. Dennis has been named president & COO of Genesco Inc. Dennis had been executive vice president and COO of Genesco. He had served as CEO of Hat World Corp., which Genesco acquired in 2005.

Robert J. Dennis has been named president & COO of Genesco Inc. Dennis was named executive vice president and COO of Genesco in October 2005. He had served as CEO of Hat World Corp., since 2001. Following Genesco`s acquisition of Hat World, No. 331 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, in April 2004, he was named senior vice president of Genesco in June 2004. Dennis also has been elected a director of Genesco.

Hal N. Pennington will continue as chairman and CEO.

Genesco is a Nashville, TN-based specialty retailer that sells footwear, headwear and accessories in more than 1,850 retail stores in the United States and Canada, principally under the names Journeys, Journeys Kidz, Shi by Journeys, Johnston & Murphy, Underground Station, Hatworld, Lids, Hat Zone, Cap Factory, Head Quarters and Cap Connection.
