Neiman Marcus is reporting a healthy gain in web sales for the 2006 fiscal year.
For FY 2006 e-commerce sales rose 32.6% to $405.7 million from $305.9 million in fiscal 2005. At the same time, total sales rose by 8.8% to $4.10 billion from $3.77 billion in fiscal 2005.
Overall the web accounted for 10% of total sales in FY 2006 vs. 8% in fiscal 2005. Neiman Marcus, No. 37 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, says more than one million customers made a purchase through one of its catalogs or web sites in fiscal year 2006. The company’s e-mail marketing database also contains more than 2.3 million opt-in names, Neiman Marcus notes in its recently filed 10K report.
The Neiman Marcus Group Inc. will launch a new e-commerce site sometime in the spring of 2007. The new site will sell the multi-channel retailer’s liquidated merchandise.
