PC Universe launches universal platform update

The pure-play has launched an updated version of its e-commerce platform. The new platform incorporates numerous new features, including improved site navigation, expanded product information and a one-click checkout process for returning customers.

PC Universe Inc. has launched an updated version of its e-commerce platform. The new platform incorporates numerous new features, including improved site navigation, expanded product information and a one-click checkout process for returning customers.

Very early results show how the enhanced e-commerce platform is improving business for the pure-play, according to company executives. Traffic is up 23%, returning customers up 34%, transactions up 22%, repeat visitors up 52% and revenue up 34%, the company reports.

Analysis of customer behavior combined with extensive usability testing, web analytics and the incorporation of industry best practices has enabled PC Universe to build a better e-commerce site, says Patrick Colletta, director of e-commerce. “We will continue to refine and improve our site as we strive to make the shopping experience the best it can be.”

PC Universe, No. 333 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, hit sales of $13.2 million last year, a 28.2 increase over 2004’s $10.3 million.
