Latest Offering from IMT Product Series Released in Time for Holiday Season

New York, August 17, 2006 – Viewpoint Corporation (NASDAQ: VWPT), a leading internet marketing technology company, today introduced its Viewpoint advergaming product, the latest offering from its Internet Marketing Technology (IMT) Product Series.

Viewpoint’s advergaming product allows marketers to provide brand engagement through the creation of custom online games. Viewpoint advergaming employs the company’s leading visualization technology to create engaging game content that can be delivered online through multiple media – including through the advertisers’ website or through a rich media ad unit.

Advergaming, proven to be popular with a broad and highly sought after audience on the web – men and women ranging from their late teens to early 30’s – has gained increasing popularity as a method for exposing consumers to a brand in an entertaining and engaging manner. Major brands including McDonald’s, Nike, Volkswagen, Victoria’s Secret and many others have taken advantage of the opportunity to develop advergaming campaigns that are highly tailored to the target audience they want to reach. The Yankee Group forecasts that more than one-third of money spent on advertising in games in 2009 (approximately $266 million), will come from online advergaming.

“Given our heritage in creating compelling online content using visualization and interactivity, and a reputation for excellence in building technically sophisticated applications that engage and entertain, advergaming is a perfect fit for us,” said Jason McKay, vice president and general manager of Unicast. “This is the latest step in our continuing commitment to providing marketers with new opportunities for reaching target audiences to create brand awareness.”

Viewpoint will offer a series of advergaming products that feature increasing levels of interactivity and sophistication at three different price points:

 “Casual” branded interactive games - based on a classic format
 Customized games - developed to foster user-engagement by interesting players in the game’s subject.
 Complex site-side advergames - brands become part of the content, and are not necessarily those of a particular game maker.

“Our focus on technology enables us to stay ahead of emerging market trends such as advergaming and invest in areas that truly add value for our customers,” said Patrick Vogt, Viewpoint’s president and CEO. “We will continue to leverage our ability to innovate, bringing new products in our IMT series to the market as we see new opportunities to improve the customer experience leveraging technology for online marketing.”

Viewpoint’s IMT Product Series integrates three core technologies including the Viewpoint Media Player, browser-based marketing applications, and the Unicast Ad Platform. The integration of these technologies truly provides a unique value proposition for Viewpoint and its customers delivering engaging online advertising faster with more measurable results.
