RedEnvelope names new vice president of merchandising

RedEnvelope Inc. has named Scott Loly as vice president of merchandising. He previously was senior merchant at Design Within Reach.

RedEnvelope Inc. has named Scott Loly, formerly senior merchant at Design Within Reach Inc., vice president of merchandising. He will be responsible for the overall strategic direction of the company’s product offerings, development of products, and management of the merchandising and product development teams.

At Design Within Reach, Loly was responsible for a range of product categories, including development and introduction of new initiatives for kids and accessories. He previously served in various merchandise management roles for Gap Inc., as a senior buyer at Williams-Sonoma Inc., and as a merchandise manager at Banana Republic. He began his 22 years in retail in the executive development training program at Macy’s.

“We are very pleased to have a merchant of Scott’s caliber join the RedEnvelope management team,” says Ken Constable CEO. “As we look to better serve our predominantly female customer base and target specific gift giving occasions, we believe that Scott’s extensive merchandising and product development experience will make a significant contribution to our providing the most relevant selection of products possible.”

Loly starts today in his new position with RedEnvelope, No. 109 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites.
