PointRoll.com leads in rich media ad impressions, new study says

PointRoll.com took a commanding lead in an initial study of rich media advertising impressions, with 404.2 million impressions for a market share of 59.7%, for the week ended Aug. 6, Nielsen/NetRatings reports.

PointRoll.com took a commanding lead in an initial study of rich media advertising impressions, with 404.2 million impressions for a market share of 59.7% for the week ended Aug. 6, Nielsen/NetRatings says in its AdRelevance report.

Ranked second was Eyeblaster.com, with 98.8 million impressions and a market share of 14.6%, followed by Klipmart, 73.5 million, 10.9%; Dart Motif, 48.4 million, 7.2%; Eyewonder, 34 million, 5%; Interpolis, 13.2 million, 2%; Unicast, 4.5 million, 0.7%; and UV Shoshkele, 62,000 (less than 1%).

For the same week, Nielsen also noted that compound image/text ads led among five technology categories. Following are the five categories listed by number of impressions (in millions) and market share:
--Compound image/text ad, 16.1/ 27.9%
--Sponsored search link, 14.6/25.3%
--Standard GIF/JPEG, 13.7/23.7%
--Flash (generic), 12.7/22%
--Rich media vendors, 0.68/1.2%
