GSI Commerce’s president/COO to retire

Outsourced e-commerce services provider GSI Commerce Inc. today announced that Robert Blyskal, president and chief operating officer, will retire in October 2006. Blyskal came out of retirement to join GSI Commerce as co-president and COO in May 2004.

Outsourced e-commerce services provider GSI Commerce Inc. today announced that Robert Blyskal, president and chief operating officer, will retire in October 2006. Blyskal came out of retirement to join GSI Commerce as co-president and chief operating officer in May 2004 and was named president and chief operating officer in August.

Michael Rubin, chairman and CEO, will assume the role of president following Blyksal’s departure. The company says it does not plan to fill the position of chief operating officer.

“Bob has made significant contributions to GSI Commerce, including recruiting world-class talent and incorporating enhanced management processes,” Rubin says.

GSI Commerce provides e-commerce technology, logistics, customer service and marketing to more than 50 retailers, branded manufacturers, entertainment companies and professional sports organizations.
