IAC/InterActiveCorp grew its U.S. web retail sales by 17.2% in the second quarter while total U.S. retail sales, which include the web, TV and catalogs, grew 4%.

For Q2 IAC reported U.S. web retail sales of about $181 million compared with $154.3 million in Q2 2005. Overall the web accounted for 26% of IAC’s second quarter U.S. retail sales vs. 23% a year earlier. The company didn’t break out e-commerce numbers for its overall retail operations, which includes international sales. Total retailing sales at IAC hit $775 million in the second quarter of 2006, a modest 2% increase over $762 million during the same period in 2005. Total company sales for the quarter jumped 18% to $1.61 billion in the second quarter of 2006, an 18% jump over $1.37 billion during the same period in 2005.

Overall retail sales for the quarter reflect higher revenue from catalogs, partially offset by slightly lower revenue at the Home Shopping Network. Strong online performance, including sales from Shoebuy.com, which was acquired in February, contributed to overall sales growth, the company says.

IAC is No. 23 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites.
