Bunker named vice president of sales and marketing at Alibris

Alibris Inc. has named Jeanie Bunker vice president of sales and marketing. A large part of her role at the pure-play books, music and movies retailer will be to assist with its expansion into international markets.

Alibris Inc. has named Jeanie Bunker vice president of sales and marketing. A large part of her role at the pure-play books, music and movies retailer will be to assist with its expansion into international markets.

“She brings a wealth of online marketing and global markets experience to play in an environment rich with opportunity,” an Alibris spokesman says. “She will be a key leader as we expand internationally.”

Bunker previously served as vice president of global direct marketing at Yahoo, managing a budget of more than $200 million and staff of more than 75. Prior to working at Yahoo, she was vice president of marketing at eTrade.

Alibris links online shoppers looking for books, music and movies to thousands of independent sellers around the world. Through its network, the company offers a selection of more than 60 million used, new and out-of-print books and other products to consumers, libraries and retailers.

Alibris, No. 108 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, reaped $78.6 million, a 28.3% jump over sales of $61.3 million in 2004.
