SmartBargains hires two retail industry veterans

SmartBargains Inc. has named Shari Shakun vice president and general merchandiser manager of softlines and Corina Roth vice president and general merchandise manager of home.

SmartBargains Inc. has named Shari Shakun vice president and general merchandise manager of softlines and Corina Roth vice president and general merchandise manager of home.

Shakun has 17 years experience in the industry, previously holding senior buying and merchandising positions at TJX Cos. Inc. She served most recently as TJX’s merchandise manager in ladies sportswear.

Roth joined SmartBargains from Boscov’s Department Stores, where she held buying and merchandising positions for 18 years. She was most recently vice president and divisional merchandise manager for domestics, gifts, candy, luggage and stationery.

“We are delighted to announce the additions of two seasoned retail executives to our company,” said Bart Litvin, chief merchandising officer at SmartBargains. “Over the next few months, both Shari and Corina will be leveraging their strong relationships in the vendor community to significantly expand many of SmartBargains’ merchandise categories with the products our customers want at the best possible prices.”
