Rick Martin, a former executive with BusinessLand, Gap Inc. and Sears, is the new president and CEO of Tentoe, a provider of online merchandising solutions. Tentoe founder Tom Fristoe was named to the newly created position of chief technology officer.

Martin will concentrate on the business execution of day-to-day operations, while Fristoe will focus on technology development.

“Rick’s arrival at Tentoe is very timely given our rapid growth,” said Fristoe. “To effectively manage both the business operations as well as guiding Tentoe’s product development, we made the important decision to split these responsibilities between two people.”

Martin’s 30 years in the retail market includes the launch of the Compaq Presario brand into consumer retail channels, where it developed into a $100 million business in its first year. Most recently, he served as chairman and CEO of Positive Communications, a nationwide wireless messaging company.
