ECCO launches new sites for Netherlands and Canada

To build on the growth of its retail e-commerce site in the U.S., shoe manufacturer ECCO recently launched a site for the Netherlands and plans to introduce a site for Canada later this year, the company said this week.

 

To build on the growth of its retail e-commerce site in the U.S., shoe manufacturer ECCO recently launched a site for the Netherlands and plans to introduce a site for Canada later this year, the company said this week.

The ECCO Netherlands site, ECCOShopping.nl, which launched in April, was developed by PixelMedia, Portsmouth, NH. The site operates with the same shopping cart technology PixelMedia used to build the U.S. site, ECCOUSA.com. The cart technology integrates with ECCO’s SAP order fulfillment and inventory management applications.

The Netherlands site was tailored to handle local regulations for payment processing and shipping, and it includes content management tools that let ECCO Netherlands present seasonal and country-specific merchandise with integration with a global inventory management system, ECCO said. Similar features will serve the Canadian site.

“PixelMedia has been a key strategic partner in serving our customers,” said ECCO USA senior vice president of operations and logistics Barbara Briguglio. “Now our country sites outside the U.S. can offer the same advanced features and functionality, tailored to meet their specific needs.”
