Consumer products retailers provided customers with high broadband connections the fastest access time in March, says Gomez Inc.

Gomez notes that customers with a high broadband connection could visit a consumer products retailer’s site in about 5.76 seconds, compared to computer and electronics retailers (6.01 seconds) mass merchants (6.65 seconds), specialty retailers (7.24 seconds) and apparel/accessories retailers (7.6 seconds).

When their site is accessed by a low broadband connection, consumer products retailers also provided the fastest average access at 12.20 seconds, Gomez says. The next fastest web retailing category was specialty retailers (14.10 seconds), followed by computer and electronics retailers (14.18 seconds) apparel/accessories retailers (14.54 seconds) and mass merchants (15.02 seconds).
