Online sales regain their momentum rising 35% week ending Feb. 26

Online retail sales for the week ending Feb. 26 reached $2.02 billion, up 35% from $1.5 billion in the corresponding week a year ago, comScore Networks Inc. reports.

After a couple of soft weeks, the online retail market came roaring back the last week in February. Online retail sales for the week ending Feb. 26 exceeded $2 billion, reaching $2.02 billion, up 35% from $1.5 billion in the corresponding week a year ago, comScore Networks Inc. reports. Growth in the previous three weeks had ranged from 11% to 17%.

By comparison, ShopperTrak’s National Retail Sales Estimate reports that total retail sales rose 7.2% for the week ending Feb. 25 compared to the comparable week a year ago.

Online travel sales for the week ending Feb. 26 rose 51% $1.76 billion from $1.16 billion in the corresponding week a year ago, comScore reports.
