Fandango, the online, phone and mobile movie ticketing service, has promoted Ted Hong to vice president of marketing and product development. Hong joined Fandango in 2003 and was one of the key developers of Fandango’s bag puppet marketing campaign, the company says.

In the past year, Fandango’s web site traffic has grown 29%, according to Nielsen/NetRatings. The company is the exclusive movie ticketing service to more than 13,600 screens and 1,150 theaters, nearly 70% of theaters in the U.S. that are enabled for remote ticketing.

Hong will head up Fandango`s marketing, public relations, and product development. Before he joined Fandango, Hong was a head of marketing for dotTV, a web identity services provider, where he led marketing efforts for the international and wholesale divisions of the company. DotTV was acquired by VeriSign in 2003.
