About a year after it signed an e-commerce outsourcing and web design agreement with GSI Commerce Inc., Adidas America Inc. now is operating a new web store with advanced site search and merchandising features.

The redesigned site, ShopAdidas.com, went live at the end of January and offers consumers footwear, apparel and accessories for men, women and children, and includes merchandise from Adidas` "original" and "performance" lines of merchandise. The new web site features larger graphics and more than 1,250 different styles of shoes, clothing and accessories. It also gives customers the ability to purchase online gift certificates. Other enhancements include a new zoom feature on product pages and outfit images and color swatching, says Adidas America e-commerce manager Mary Halladay. “Our business objectives are to improve conversion and better showcase our products,” she says.

Under the agreement with GSI, Adidas, No. 257 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, is using GSI for e-commerce platform management, managed hosting, order management and other services. Adidas also will use GSI`s customer relationship management services to help cross-sell merchandise.
