Build-A-Bear Workshop’s Q4 web sales rise 44% year-over-year

Internet sales at Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc. rose 44% in the fourth quarter to $4 million from a year ago, the retailer said.

Internet sales at Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc. rose 44% in the fourth quarter to $4 million from a year ago, the retailer said.

By comparison, total Q4 net sales rose 18% year-over-year to $116.7 million. Q4 comparable store sales, or sales at stores open at least one year, dropped 0.6%.

For the year, Internet sales rose 38.8% year over year to $8.7 million. Total sales for 2005 increased 19.4% to $358.9 million. Comparable store sales for the year dropped 0.2%.

For 2006, the company is forecasting revenue growth of about 20%, with comparable store sales in the flat to low single-digit range.

Build-A-Bear Workshop is No. 332 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites.
