As the database marketing manager, Fitzgerald will be in charge of maintaining a database of 15 million customers and help the NFL, No. 186 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, market across multiple channels, including e-commerce and catalogs.
Today, the web accounts for about 50% of all sales at the NFL’s direct marketing arm and in 2005 NFLShop.com, which draws more than 2 million monthly visitors, generated e-commerce revenues of about $32 million.
Before joining the NFL, Fitzgerald for the last five years was director of commerce and development for the National Hockey League.
