Visits increase at 8 of the top 10 apparel and beauty sites in November

Visits to eight of the top 10 apparel and beauty sites increased by double digits in November, according to Nielsen/NetRatings. VictoriasSecret.com led the group, with visits increasing 50% to 4.5 million from 3 million a year earlier.

Avon had the second largest increase, with site visits rising 48% to 3.4 million from 2.3 million; followed by LLBean.com, up 43% to 4.3 million from 3 million; eBay Clothing, Shoes and Accessories, up 38% to 12.4 million from 9 million; Zappos.com, up 35% to 2.7 million from 2 million; eBay Health and Beauty, up 34% to 4.3 million from 3.2 million; Old Navy, up 33% to 4 million from 3 million; eBay Jewelry and Watches, up 20% to 6 million from 5 million; and The Gap, up 6% to 3.3 million from 3.1 million.

Visits to Lands End dropped 3% to 3.1 million from 3.2 million.

EBay Clothing, Shoes and Accessories recorded the most traffic, followed by eBay Jewelry and Watches, VictoriasSecret.com, LLBean.com, eBay Health and Beauty, Old Navy, Avon, The Gap, Lands End, and Zappos.com.

The top 10 apparel and beauty sites ranked by time per visit were Avon, 37 minutes, 3 seconds; Mary Kay, 24 minutes, 37 seconds; Haband.com, 19 minutes, 20 seconds; eBay Clothing, Shoes and Accessories, 18 minutes, 45 seconds; Chadwick’s, 17 minutes, 34 seconds; Lands End, 16 minutes, 39 seconds; Blair.com, 16 minutes, 37 seconds; eBay Jewelry and Watches, 14 minutes, 29 seconds; Aeropostale.com, 13 minutes, 51 seconds; and LLBean.com, 13 minutes, 46 seconds.

Also in November, the food and beverage segment had the most online ad impressions in the consumer goods industry, according to Nielsen’s AdRelevance report. The leading segments in the report and their number of impressions (in millions) are:
