Streamlining Customer Data Key to Cross-Channel Enhancements
Natick, MA – January 11, 2006 – CommercialWare Inc., the leading provider of cross-channel commerce solutions for retailers, today expanded the product features and increased the depth of functionality for CWDirect and CWStore. Delivering a robust set of enhancements, new versions of CWDirect and CWStore will allow retailers an integrated and streamlined 360 degree view of customers.
Focusing on further enhancing many of the existing features of the software, CommercialWare’s new versions give retailers the type of intelligence that the direct marketing industry has been using successfully for years – a comprehensive view of every transaction by each customer.
CWDirect 9.5, an integrated order-management and customer service system, allows retailers to lookup, maintain, merge, purge and create a centralized customer history that is visible in CWStore and other third-party POS software solutions. Once a customer is in the system, their complete transaction history is available in real-time across all channels. Updates to each customer record are saved for tracking and auditing purposes. Customer information gathering is streamlined, providing retailers with the opportunity to capture customer details at any point of sale while avoiding any de-duping process.
The 9.5 software releases give retailers a more fully integrated, cross-channel system, that delivers the power to correlate a catalog drop or email promotion to an increase in sales at brick and mortar stores. With increased visibility into specific transactions, the new software also paves the way for customers to return merchandise in multiple locations with automated support. Armed with greater insight into the customer interactions between retail channels, more sophisticated data analysis and new marketing opportunities become possible.

Additionally, the updates provide the ability to copy items across brands and companies, deploy microsites internationally with localized pricing, integrate with additional tax software packages using a new XML-based API, and extend discounts based on quantity and currency and reserve inventory by channel under separate rules.
Both CWDirect and CWStore support the recently announced CWValueCard, a client-branded gift card that enables retailers to offer customers an instantly redeemable card across every retail channel – catalog, web, and retail.
