Ecometry Announces Partnership with IBM Point of Sale Group

DELRAY BEACH, Fla., Jan. 5, 2006 – Ecometry Corp., a leading supplier of software for multi-channel commerce, today reported that it has a partnership with IBM Point of Sale Retail Store Solution Group. The partnership is a result of a previous relationship that IBM had with ADS Retail, an Upper Marlboro, MD.-based provider of point-of-sale software, which Ecometry acquired in October 2005.

ADS Retail began its IBM Business Partner relationship in 1983 and became a Point of Sale Business Partner in 1986. Over the years, ADS Retail sold more than 25,000 Point of Sale terminals in addition to store severs and AS/400 (now eServer I Series) mid-range servers. Ecometry will be selling IBM POS hardware and will provide new hardware and ADS Retail’s customers with redistribution services. These include assembling hardware components, loading software, testing and repackaging as one unit so that when equipment arrives at a retailer’s store, the store clerk simply plugs in the Point of Sale and it is up and running.

“We want to keep and further strengthen the solid relationship that ADS Retail has established with IBM,” said John Marrah, president and CEO of Ecometry. “Therefore, we felt that it was imperative to continue to foster a partnership with IBM as it will be an added benefit to our customers.”

With a 52 percent market share, IBM’s Point of Sale hardware is known for its high quality and long life. Many of its systems in use today are more than 15 years old. All hardware is “retail hardened” and tested with IBM’s patented “retail dirt” to assure it can withstand the most severe retail conditions. This extra effort results in long-lasting equipment and investment protection.
