By several measures, retail chains did well online this past holiday shopping season. A survey by Majestic Research released Dec. 20 as the holiday shopping season was winding down showed that of the 20 sites that consumers visited most frequently, 15 were chains’ sites.
Here are the sites and the percent of respondents to Majestic’s survey who had visited them during holiday shopping, with their rankings in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, in parentheses. Retail chains are in bold:
