E-commerce sales for Systemax jump 31% in Q2

Web sales for Systemax, the parent company of online computer retailer TigerDirect, grew 31% in Q2 while total sales rose almost 16%.

Web sales at Systemax Inc., the parent company of online computer retailer TigerDirect Inc., jumped nearly 31% in the second quarter to $150.6 million from $115.5 million in the same quarter for 2004 while total sales increased almost 16% to $502 million from $433.3 million from Q2 2004.

In the second quarter, the web accounted for 30% of total sales compared to 27% of total sales in Q2 2004. “An increase in e-commerce sales in both our computer and industrial products business was the primary source of the sales increase in the second quarter,” says Systemax CEO Richard Leeds.
